Monday Little Happies

Just getting my Monday wits about me - after cleaning up the HAZMAT Zone known as Casa Giese-post-Hurricane-Avery. Mondays seem to be tough blog days for me - they shouldn't be - I should be chock-full of topic after a weekend, but sometimes I find myself puttering around without much in terms of design brilliance to offer...
Having said that, I DO want to share some Little Happies with you:

My friend, Kirsten, is a seamstress - she's talented enough to make me want to give up my hopes of learning to sew, and just pay her to whip up cute things for me. I figure if I watch her three kiddos, she can focus on sewing - is that a fair trade off?
Anyway, she's been plotting to fix up her playroom, and found a tutorial on JC Handmade for these precious and handy wall tote bags.

Aren't they the cutest things? Perfect for tossing in small toy pieces, books, etc. in a quick clean-up attempt!
Kirsten is going with a navy and orange color scheme - here's her wall totes
Her two oldest kiddos designed the car and the "abstract art" image, and Kirsten stitched them onto the canvase totes - how cool is THAT?!

I loved hers so much, I sent out some not-too-subtle hints about making one for Avery, and whadd'ya know? A few days later I was presented with our own little kidlet tote! Isn't the liner fabric adorable? And the rick-rack - so sweet!
Thanks again, Kirsten - we love it!

On another Happy note, I'm so excited to announce that MLHP is undergoing a facelift as we speak! You all know I've been hemming and hawing about redesigning this blog. I seriously considered taking on the task myself, but quickly realized this would be My Little OLD Place before I mastered the kind of graphic design skills I would need to make my blog dreams come true. So, I turned the task over to a lovely woman and graphic designer named Carrie. She's working through the color schemes, fonts, buttons and widget-installs for me - and that's a VERY good thing! I'll keep ya posted so you'll know when to expect things to look a bit more Happy 'round here!
