Feelin' Artsy Fartsy?

Whenever I'm Stateside for a visit, I try to cram in as many home projects as anyone will throw at me. It's not that I don't have a "to do" list of my own down in South America, it's just fantastically easy to get ideas installed here in the good 'ol US of A compared to the efforts required in Brazil.
The last time I was here, I repainted Mom and Dad's office. Previously, they had a four-poster twin residing alongside the computer desk - a little bit of a hodge podge that Mom wanted to transform into more of a true study. So, the bed was replaced with this slipcovered loveseat (a cast-off by my MIL)Although streamlining the room was a vast improvement, we still haven't put the finishing touches in that will make the office a bit more cozy. Does anything from that pic above scream something out to you?
YES! There's some serious need for a piece of art on that wall! We've looked at some options, but really, I tend to cringe away from buying art at Big Box stores - they usually have an OK selection, but it's a bit sterile, and well, your neighbor may end up with that exact same piece - Ick!
As of this moment, our thoughts are to buy a large canvas and just let our creative juices flow...BUT there's also this possibility...

Becky over at Harmony and Home is hosting her first-ever give away - one reader will be randomly-selected to win a 40x40 framed piece of gallery art from New Era HD! It's super-simple to enter - all you have to do is browse a bit on New Era's website, then go back to Harmony and Home, and leave a comment on what piece of art grabbed your eye and why - See? Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!!

Here's a few I could work with...
Abstracted Fruit by Sylvia Angeli
Riviera Drive III by Sara Abbott
Horizon Lines II
String Theory I both by Benjamin Arnot
Morning Dew by Michael Joseph
